We have an exciting Christian education program for children ages 3 through sixth grade. The interactive lessons are taught by a variety of our members. We meet on the second and third Sundays of the month at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Would you like to help teach? If so, please email LansingLutherans@gmail.com.
Each December, the children and youth of the community produce an original Christmas pageant complete with carols, costumes and a living nativity. All kids are welcome to be in the cast. This year, our pageant will be held on December 21, 2025.
The congregation is committed to helping our young people to achieve their higher education goals. To this end, the Bev Fitz Memorial Scholarship is awarded to qualified candidates. We congratulate Ethan Schweitzer and Ashlyn Henkes on being this year's scholarship winners. He is attending the University of Northern Iowa.
Our confirmation program is a chance for middle school students to explore their faith, ask big questions, and discover what it means to be part of the Lutheran tradition. Together we learn the basics of the Bible, dive into Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, and talk about how faith connects with real life today. The program is interactive and student-led, with opportunities to participate in worship, serve in the community, and create a personal project to express faith in a unique way. We meet on the first and third Sundays of each month, and we’d love for you to join us on the journey!

Our confirmation students not only write faith statements, they produce short films to talk about how God is active in their lives. Here is the faith video made by confirmand, Zoey Timmerman.

We hold first communion classes for kids in first grade and older. Below is a video with highlights from our most recent class. If you would like to enroll your child in the next class, send us an email: lansinglutherans@gmail.com.
Our students get their very own bibles.
