As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
All women in our congregation are invited to be part of our organization. We meet during coffee hour at 10 a.m. on the third Sunday of each month. Grab a cup of coffee and meet us at the table nearest the sanctuary. We'd love to get to know you.
We raise money to give away so that we can make a difference. Here are some of the projects we gave to in 2022:
• A $300 gift was given to ELCA Good Gifts to stock a medical clinic
• A $60 gift was given to ELCA Good Gifts for a goat and ten chicks in honor of our pastor
• A $50 gift was given to Lutheran Services in Iowa' Angel Tree project
• Our congregation’s nine shut-ins and nursing home residents were remembered with a Christmas gift of slipper socks and a decorative ornament
• The World Day of Prayer was commemorated with the ladies serving a luncheon followed by speaker Steve Noah who presented a program on the Women of Rwanda
• A congregational potluck picnic was held in June at the Sports Complex following the worship service
• Judy Schild and Ann Fields made quilts for the RAGBRAI Raffle
• A pie sale was held at the September RAGBRAI Finale at the Sports Complex
• An Easter Brunch was served
• Our ladies prepared 20+ treat bags which were given to Christmas Pageant participants
We are part of the churchwide Women of the ELCA. Learn more about them here.
Are you ready to be inspired about the life-changing power of prayer? Then watch our World Day of Prayer video here featuring guest speaker, Barb Winters-Kelly who shares deeply about her faith and guides us through an interactive prayer experience. This was part of our World Day of Prayer event of 2023, when we joined with thousands of Christians around the world to pray for peace.
