Since 2001, Rev. Laura Gentry has been the pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. A graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California, she hold a Master of Divinity as well as a Master of Art degree in the area of Worship and the Arts. 

After starting the Lansing Laughter Club in 2005, Pastor Gentry became a Master Teacher of Laughter Yoga and was later named a Laughter Ambassador by Laughter University in Mumbai, India. She has presented laughter and motivational programs on six continents and developed a number of resources including a book, a film and seven albums. She teaches regularly at the world’s longest running Clown Camp in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. 

She recently began as a Hospice Chaplain for WinnMed, working to bring comfort to patients in a five-county area in Northeast Iowa.

Pastor Gentry is  an artist and has designed many of the pieces hanging in our church and the public art projects we have done. She recently installed a mural on Main Street in Lansing.

Pastor Gentry's husband is also known as Pastor Gentry. He pastors First Congregational Church in McGregor. They decided to raise their dog, Fuji, in the Lutheran Church and so you'll find her most Sundays at Our Savior's. She would love to greet you!
