Since 2001, Rev. Laura Gentry has been the pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. A graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California, she hold a Master of Divinity as well as a Master of Art degree in the area of Worship and the Arts. 

Pastor Gentry is also a hospice chaplain for  WinnMed  in Decorah, Iowa, where she provides end-of-life care for patients and their families in a five-county area.

After starting the Lansing Laughter Club in 2005, Pastor Laura became a Master Teacher of Laughter Yoga and was later named a Laughter Ambassador by Laughter University in Mumbai, India. Known as Laughing Laura, she has presented laughter and motivational programs on six continents and developed a number of resources including a book, a film and seven albums. 

Pastor Gentry is an artist and has created many of the pieces hanging in our church. She designed and facilitated the creation of a public art mural with 100 local resident. You can find that on Front Street in Lansing.

Pastor Gentry's husband is also known as Pastor Gentry. He leads First Congregational Church in McGregor. They decided to raise their dog, Fuji, in the Lutheran Church and so you'll find her most Sundays at Our Savior's. She would love to greet you!
